You Yamaha receiver has room correction software which will auto calibrate your speakers to your room. It has been reported that the various room correction software on receivers will not recognize a Bose Acoustimass system. This is a major draw back as most of these systems do a pretty good job of automatically setting up your speakers.

Is the Bose lifestyle cube compatible with the Acoustimass?

Since each is designed to be used with a specific bass module and or Bose receiver you would not know for sure if your Lifestyle cubes are compatible with Acoustimass cubes. Keep in mind all of those special Bose connection cables.

Can a new receiver and sub bass module get along W / Bose?

If you look at the Lifestyle receiver and bass module you will see that it has special Bose cables and connections that prevent the bass module and cube speakers from being connected to your Yamaha or any other receiver.

Can a Bose speaker be used in a Bose system?

Those speakers are meant to be used as a system, although not a very good one because their are electronics and equalization built into that Bass module. However if your Bass module and cubes are part of what Bose sells as the Lifestyle system using a Bose receiver then you are out of luck.

How many bass modules do you need for a Bose sound bar?

If you desire even more bass, you can wirelessly connect two bass modules to the Bose Smart Soundbar 300. But you can only connect two of the same bass modules. In other words, you must connect two Bose Bass Module 700 units or Bose Bass Module 500 units to a single soundbar.
