We recently purchased an aspen tree that appears to have been cut from a root system. The base of the tree is approximately 2-3 inches in diameter and the cut off roots are approximately 1 inch in diameter and only 4-6 inches long. It does not appear that there are any real “live” roots that would be sucking up water.
