Why is center speaker not working?

If there is no sound coming from the center speaker when playing a DVD, there may be a problem with your connection or there may be an incorrect setting. Check the volume level to verify the sound is set at an acceptable level. Try setting the Audio/Video (A/V) receiver to a different Surround Sound mode.

Where are the speakers in a surround sound system?

Surround speakers: Place to the left and right side, just to the side or slightly behind the listening position—about 90-110 degrees from the center channel. These speakers can be elevated above the listener. The Front Center and Left/Right Main speakers and Subwoofer are the same as in a 5.1 channel setup.

Why do I need a surround sound system in my studio?

A surround sound system in your home studio will give you a pristine listening environment. You’ll be able to listen critically and hear fine details that were lost in the stereo soundscape. As any seasoned audio engineer will tell you, it’s important to listen to your final mix in a real-world environment after you’re done.

How does surround sound work on a TV?

The audio signal is split into multiple channels so that different sound information comes out of the various speakers. The most prominent sounds come out of the front speakers. When someone or something is making noise on the left side of the screen, you hear it more from a speaker to the left of the screen.

What happens if you put surround speakers at ear level?

So placing surround speakers at ear level results in unnatural, distracting ambient noises. You don’t want to be overwhelmed by these noises; they should float in and out naturally throughout the course of the movie, and you shouldn’t be able to pinpoint where the sound is coming from.
